Unfortunately, the dark magic, though repelled by physical combat, left a lasting mark on the hearts and minds of humans, elves, beastfolk, and dwarves. The shadows that once lurked in the corners of the forest managed to inexorably permeate the souls of some beings. Corrupted thoughts and flawed hearts began to sprout, and the harmony that once united them turned into distrust and fear. The dark magic, infiltrating the minds of these diverse communities, sowed the seeds of suspicion and animosity. In places where friendships once flourished, mistrust and hostility arose. Misunderstandings became more frequent, and dark visions incited even the most peaceful hearts to conflict.
An atmosphere of mistrust grew, and communities began to blur the boundaries that once united them in unity. Humans enslaved beastfolk, elves viewed dwarven skills as a threat, and dwarves behind their shields became more closed off to the outside world. Conflict arose, in which individuals, instead of joining forces, fought against each other.
The first war, fueled by the corruption of dark magic, was not only a conflict between races but also a battle for the very soul of the world, once pulsating with harmony. During these challenging times, the trees of life watched with anguish as their guardians lost themselves in the turmoil of darkness. It was a trial for them to bring forth once again what was most beautiful in the human, elven, beastfolk, and dwarven hearts, despite the influence of dark magic, which sought to root itself in their souls forever. With the power of the sacred trees, representatives of different races came together. In the shadow of the mighty trees of life, hope for an end to the first war was born… a ceasefire was declared.
