The B1 Battle Droids commonly known as B 1 battle droids, standard battle droids, clankers, or tinnies. They served as the primary infantry units of the Trade Federation. Designed for mass production, they were inexpensive and easy to manufacture, making them the most widely used military droids. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 65 kg. B1 droid strength came not from individual prowess but from their overwhelming numbers.

However, B1 battle droids had significant weaknesses. They lacked armor, making them highly vulnerable to enemy fire, and their lightweight, skeletal frames provided little durability. Additionally, they were not particularly intelligent, often relying on remote command signals for coordination in battle.

Despite these shortcomings, B1 droids laid the groundwork for more advanced battle. Droid models like the B2 and B3 super battle droids. The Trade Federation had already deployed them during the invasion of Naboo, using them as expendable foot soldiers. They armed standard B1 units with E-5 blaster rifles. B 1 equipped with a basic vocabulator, enabling them to communicate in human languages. They also carried battery packs to extend their operational range.

B1 battle droids remained in active service throughout the Clone Wars and, in some cases, even beyond. Their low production cost ensured they were manufactured in massive quantities, cementing their role as a staple of Separatist military forces and a lasting presence on battlefields across the galaxy.
