Description
Protodeka was an experimental siege machine that the Confederacy of Independent Systems used during the Dark Reaper crisis. It was a massive crab-like battle droid that a Colicoid engineer designed and Geonosians manufactured on Raxus Prime.
The machine served siege warfare by combining heavy armor, laser cannons, homing concussion missiles, and a combat claw. However, Protodeka moved slowly and lacked agility. Therefore, engineers improved its design with a seismic pulse weapon that destroyed nearby enemies. This upgrade reduced its weakness against close-range attacks.
Protodeka fought on Raxus Prime and Thule, where it protected Count Dooku and an ancient Sith city linked to the Dark Reaper. Despite its strength, Jedi warriors defeated the machine using TX-130 Saber-class fighter tanks. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, and Luminara Unduli destroyed the powerful droid.
Ultimately, Protodeka became too expensive for mass production. As a result, engineers built only a few units. After the conflict, the creator faced imprisonment in the Fortress of Axion.
