Description
This sculpture embodies our vision of the Female Samurai Warrior, the Onna-bugeisha, for whom steel and silence are of equal measure. She is captured in a fleeting moment of respite. Perhaps during the quiet intimacy of a morning ritual—allowing herself a rare pause of calm and inner harmony. For a heartbeat, she lays aside her samurai katana. Not from a lapse in vigilance, but from a profound need for contemplation.
Her hands reach for the biwa, the ancient instrument whose strings whisper a fragile, almost ethereal melody. Can you hear it? A sound that stirs a dragon from its slumber. An ageless creature, as old as the mountains, as silent as the morning mist. Enchanted by the music, the dragon rises into the air like a ribbon of smoke. Twisting and undulating in time with the trembling rhythm of the strings.
Yet do not be deceived by this serene tableau. Her delicacy is but a veil. The quiet of this moment is merely a breath between storms. Within the Onna-bugeisha lies unyielding strength, unwavering discipline, and lethal precision. Skills that have already sent countless warriors beyond the boundary of this world. The silence she shares now with her music is the same silence that falls just before the strike, a stillness heavy with inevitable destiny.
